Title: The Social Economics Effect of the Masinloc Coal Fired Power Plant Authors: Zaldivar, Brian Carlo B. Abstract: Capitalist penetration to pre-capitalist modes of production gives birth to contradictions. this paper will assume that the Masinloc Coal Fired Power Plant will diminish the productivity within its domain. The researcher fielded randomly 50 questionnaires for the inhabitants of Barangay Bani and the workers of the plant. The researcher found out that the people was robbed of their land with sweet coated promises, giving them the assurance that they will sustain their way of living by working inside the plant. It turns out that the promise given to them turned bitter and was left with no land, no job, and a lot of anxiety. After gathering the qualitative data the researcher quantified the respondents' insights and came about his conclusions. This study will hopefully be an eye-opener to the readers that the Masinloc Coal Fired Power Plant was built with contradictions and inconsistencies that still haunt the people.

Abstract: Incidence of youth offenses in the Philippines has been in the rise for the past years and has been a serious concern of both government and non-government agencies. II has been said time and again that juvenile delinquency is a social problem and youth offenders are victims of circumstances beyond their control. With this. several factors arc being accounted for the negative behavior of children in conflict with the law. Most people believed that the complexity of the present Philippine society and curiosity of the youth to experience and savor the alluring comforts the modem world has to offer have made the youth prone to commission of crimes, petty or serious. Thus, the State has to view these offenders as misguided children who varied complex needs require specialized handling. This study intends to analyze the causes of juvenile delinquency as well as evaluate the situation of child detainees in two different detention centers: Malave Youth Home and Caloocan City Jail. Furthermore, the study also aims to examine the juvenile justice system in the Philippines based on the experiences of children in conflict with the law.

Title: A Study on the Condition of Workers in Philippine Geothermal Inc. Makiling-Banahao Project Field Authors: Villena, Christian Benedict M. Abstract: The study mainly concerns on the struggle of the working class for a better working condition amidst the capitalist system. I have tried to simplify the lamenting picture of the Filipino working class through this research on the conditions of the workers in PGI Mak-Ban Project Field. Chapter I, which is the thesis proposal, shows the fundamental concepts of the study. The chapter also explains the choice of the research setting and sampling procedure. This also serves as the introduction for the research and explains the scope and limitation as well as the significance of the study. The author began the account of the research in Chapter II, which explains the general condition of the Philippine working class. Here the study focuses on the dilemma of the workers considering the abusive and exploitative domination of capitalists in the country. The demand for decent wage, biased structural programs and suppression of workers' rights and welfare were the major issues confronted by the working class not only in our country but also in other developing countries. Chapter III deals with the reality of the erratic situation of PGI \Workers. This chapter shows the management and workers' relationship in Mak-Ban plant and the role of the labor union in promoting the rights and welfare of its members. Chapter IV examines the presentation of data and the analysis about the research is discussed. Here the opinions and discussions about the situation of the PGI workers were proven through tables and graphs which is relevant in understanding their present condition. The last chapter is the conclusion of the study where I have tried to compare and associate the general condition of the Filipino workers to the PGI workers. Further research and investigation on the condition of the working class could give sufficient solutions to the issues surrounding the workers. However, I am hoping that with this study would, somewhat, help the readers understand the irrevocable situation of the working class under the supremacy of the capitalist system.
