dc.description.abstract | Set in the Philippine advertising industry, this study ascertained and compared the organizational assimilation processes of employees with and without depression. Through information gathered from six interviews, it has been found that though there were notable differences in work perceptions and attitudes between both cohorts, there is no significant difference between how people with and without depression assimilate to their workplaces. Both groups were met with high levels of task and organizational uncertainty and employed similar information-seeking and uncertainty-reducing tactics. It has also found that friendlier organizational cultures and psychosocial environments have significantly helped the assimilation processes of those with depression. These findings have relevant implications for further research on mental health and workplaces as well as organizational assimilation studies in general. | en_US |
