Abstract: The purpose of this study is to contextualize the notion of Facebook depression among the post-adolescents that study in the University of the Philippines of Manila. This study aims to describe the Filipino concept of Facebook depression, identify its factors, and know its possible effects among post-adolescents. The phenomenological research design is used in this study to be able to describe the notion of Facebook depression in terms of the respondent‟s personal experiences. The methodology used is ethnography, an approach first done by Bronislaw Malinowski. This methodology uses a “bottom-up”. This study also made use of mixed methods (questionnaire and in-depth interview) as a means of gathering the data. This study had 188 students, aged 19-21, as respondents. A selfimprovised and validated scale was used to filter the respondents. A follow-up indepth interview was made if the respondent scored high on the scale. Data organization was done through coding for the qualitative data and using SPSS for the quantitative data.Themes and categories were then created as a result of the study.
