Ethnobotanical documents preserve the knowledge and culture of people involving plants and their daily use. Locals of the municipality of Adams, province of Ilocos Norte, owing to their remote setting and pristine environment, have a rich tradition of plant use for medicine. This study aimed to determine the underlying ethnobotanical themes in relation to relevant theories to explain patterns among medicinal use of plants in the community. A qualitative analysis of medicinally important plants in the community was conducted through key informant interviews and focus group discussion. This first systematic documentation of ethnomedicinal plants in the community hopes to contribute in the preservation of their knowledge and culture and ensure its continuity in the next generations to come.en_US
