Airport development has been vital these past few decades with the advent of globalization. The establishment of social, political and economic links among countries had been very important. The development of aviation and airports contributed in establishing these links which led to the industrialization and economic development of countries. This study is focused on the socio-economic implications of airport developments on adjacent cities, residential areas and the residents of these areas. This study employed descriptive and explorative research methods. The descriptive part of the study included the city's urbanization trend, economic and infrastructure development, and current airport infrastructure developments. The explorative part of the study included the socioeconomic impact of airports on the city and its residents and possible scenarios and recommendations regarding the current situation of airport development and urbanization. The responses of the residents were basically used to determine the quality of living in residential areas near the airport.en_US
