Abstract: This is a comparative study of the different Development Studies programs in the Philippines. It was instituted to respond to the socioeconomic needs of the country by developing workers who are skilled in the theoretical and practical skills necessary for development work. The University of the Philippines, Manila; University of the Philippines College of Baguio; Ateneo de Manila University; and De La Salle University, responded by using a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary perspective in studying development or underdevelopment in the country. This study seeks to know if the Development Studies programs of the different universities are really responsive to these needs.
