Abstract: The potential toxicity of the leaf extracts of Jatropha curcas Linn. and Tinospora rumphii Boerl. was assessed and compared in this study. Five concentrations (2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 ppt) were used. Snail mortality was recorded and compared at 24-, 48- and 72-hour intervals. Results showed greater percent mortality as the concentrations of the leaf extracts and duration of time exposure were increased. Recorded data for the 10 ppt concentration after 72 hours revealed a 71.4% mortality for J. curcas and 100% mortality for T. rumphii. The results were analyzed using three statistical methods: (1) graphical, (2) Dragstedt-Behrens and (3) probit analysis. Median Lethal Concentration (LCsp) at 72-hours was computed to be 3.23 + 0.319 ppt and 3.27 + 0.100 ppt for J. curcas and T. rumphii respectively.
