Permanent slides of cross sections of different stages of the stems and petiole of Lagerstroemia speciosa (Linnaeus) and Psidium guajava (Linnaeus) were prepared, using the Paraffin method. Using the prepared slides, the tissue systems of the internode were analyzed and used as the asis for the discussion of nodal anatomy. The nodal anatomy of the two species were found to both unilacunar due to the departure of a single leaf trace from the stem vasculature to a leaf causing a single leaf gap.en_US
