Abstract: Poverty is one of the major problems in Metro Manila. Ironic it seems that the most developed metropolis in the land is also the worst when it comes to employment. Filipinos are resilient. In this time of dirty politics and plunging economy, Juan de la Cruz Still always finds a way to survive for the day. A typical unemployed will grab any opportunity that will come in his way just to earn a living. And one kind of opportunity comes in the form of livelihood programs. This paper will evaluate the livelihood programs of two non-government organizations so that the reader can have an idea of the kind of help a person gets when he commits himself in this opportunity.
