The Computerized Physician Drug Order Entry is a system that would provide the physicians a complete, automated and more efficient ordering of medicines and medical supplies from the hospital’s pharmacy. It is a web-based solution to prevent medication errors and increase patient’s safety in hospitals. The system is integrated with the updated Patient Medical Record to speed up the retrieval of important and relevant information. It provides information to the pharmacist to help them monitor patient’s medication list. It allows physicians to stop a certain medication on a patient in case adverse effects are noted. The system also manages the charged medication bill of a patient to keep track of the medicine orders and to make the transaction organized. Additionally, it includes the drug inventory system that is updated whenever a transaction occurs.en_US
