Abstract: Transportation is important in mobilization of the goods and people in the country. Recognizing this, the research focuses on the status, role, and contribution of the bus transportation sector in the National Economy. The study determines the state of the Bus companies in the Philippines. Statistics gathered from the website of NSO, DOTC, and LTO explains the size of the bus units registered, the size of employment, and the amount of revenue collected from the industry. The contribution aside from the revenue statistics were determined through interviews with representatives of the biggest bus companies and a representative of the government from DOTC. Finally, the role of the sector in the economy is determined through archival research and personal interviews. Through qualitative and quantitative data, the research highlights the status, role and contribution to the National economy. It also answers the problem whether there is a need for a re-evaluation of the sector with the lack of available data and the problems of the sector.
