The working conditions of contract workers in our country have been undeniably neglected and ignored. A comparative analysis will be presented in the following pages to show the current status of the workers employed in Shoe Mart and Robinsons Department Stores. With this, issues concerning the employment scheme, wage distribution and benefit grants of the two companies shall be tackled. Included are four stories, specifically selected to provide the reader a deeper examination of the lives that the Filipino contract worker leads. Contractualization in our country is greatly in need of scrutiny, as obviously, contract workers in our country are given no voice with regards to their rights in their work place. To protect our laborers, major modifications to their contracts must be done and a stricter monitoring strategy should be placed to all establishments hiring contract workers.en_US
