This paper research paper discusses the subject matter of prostitution particularly the issue regarding the proposed legalization of prostitution in the country. The recognition of prostitution as a legitimate working sector had generated a lot of debates and argumentations concerning its value and magnitude when implemented in the Philippines. The International Labor Organization has proposed this recognition of sex industry as sex work, following the lobbying of women's group to its opposition. This paper presents the arguments laid by ILO and the retorts of women's organizations corroborated by a comprehensive account of prostitution in the Philippinesen_US
