Title: Authoritarian Regime: A positive-deviant, a saving regime

Abstract: This research entitled, "Authoritarian Regime: A Positive Deviant, A Saving Regime", aims to explore an alternative lens to viewing an authoritarian regime through a positive light. More specifically it seeks to offer the prospect of progress for the Philippines through such a regime set up. Through the course of this research, answers to questions such as what are the positive features of an authoritarian regime that can be extracted based on historical authoritarian regimes? Particularly, could it bring progress, how or why not? Would it work to help Third World Democracies in their pursuit for progress? In particular for the Philippines, is it timely to be setting up an authoritarian regime, and what could be some justifications? To answer these questions the research shall use various data gathering techniques such as review of related literature, survey, focus group discussion and key informant interview. After which data obtained from the aforesaid research methodologies shall be analyzed through a legal institutional and behavioral approach of political analysis. Research findings shall serve as rationale, to recommend an authoritarian regime as an alternative regime set up for the country's pursuit of overall progress.
