dc.description.abstract | The passing of the Republic Act No. 10354 or Reproductive Health Law intensified the call for the need for a comprehensive age-appropriate sexuality education along with the different international agreements of which the Philippines is a signatory and participating government. Using a qualitative constructivist approach, this study was conducted to investigate student perception of sexuality education along parent and teacher experiences of the subject matter, and how parent and teacher perception influence the experience of students. Focus group discussions with students currently in high school, parents with children in high school, and high school teacher and literature analysis were conducted. Findings showed that students perceive sexuality education as necessary, teachers’ experience is affected by several factors such as the perceived degree of receptiveness by the community and parents and availability of resources, parents are generally aware that their children receives sex education at school, and teacher and parent perception greatly affect student meaning and attitude towards the subject. | en_US |
