dc.description.abstract | This study ruminates on the influence of Philippine local government units (from barangays, organizing committees, to towns and municipalities) on people’s perception of sexual liberation and gender emancipation, specifically in the area of Brgy. Malumot, Paombong, Bulacan. As part of the Filipinos daily life, the local government serve as an institution which contribute shape public opinion towards members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transsexual Community. Through the use of different political theories, historical analysis, and effective data gathering procedures, this research material establishes a connection between the LGBT Community, community organizations, local government units, and the persisting LGBT discrimination. The study set out to prove that both the existence and lack thereof of policies, memoranda, programs and activities spearheaded by the local government greatly influence the people’s discernment towards the LGBT. Moreover, this research tries to put emphasis on the role of the immediate community in determining public outlook with regard to issues labelled as universal taboos. This study encompasses all matters affecting the stature of the LGBTs in the society given LGUs as an independent variable. In this light, the effectivity of policies, regulations, and existing institutions will also be reviewed and put under surveillance. | en_US |
