Issue Date: May-2016
Abstract: Access to food is one of the biggest problems faced by today's urban communities. Aside from just being able to access, sustainability of this accessibility is also one of things that should be attained in our country. As one of the largest cities in the metro, Quezon City is the forefront of sustainable urban agriculture. In 2010, The Joy of Urban Farming was launched to address the needs and issues of its constituents, mainly targeting those coming from the lower echelons of the city. This program lao aims to address issues of malnutrition and food insecurity. Given that the program has been institutionalized since 2010, this study aims to garner the opinions of residents towards the projects. This study involves the residents of Bgy. UP Campus - one of the first communities that underwent the project. This study includes the assessment of each individual based on their age, sex, and income bracket. From a survey, the participation rating and perception of the residents can be assessed to see how they were able to benefit from involving themselves in the project.
