<title>Cyberstore and Cyberads</title>

<description>Cyberstore and Cyberads
Enerva, Loraine
E-commerce is the buying and selling of goods and services across the Internet.&#13;
An e-commerce site can be as simple as a catalog page with a phone number, or it can&#13;
range all the way to a real-time credit card processing site where customers can purchase&#13;
downloadable goods and receive them on the spot. Electronic commerce merchants can&#13;
range from the small business with a few items for sale all the way to a large on-line&#13;
retailer such as Amazon.com.&#13;
Building an e-commerce site that is customized to a merchants needs is very&#13;
expensive. This is the reason why many small time businessmen think twice in&#13;
participating in e-commerce. This special project is a dynamic website that can be&#13;
customized by merchants to the specific products that they want to sell. It would provide&#13;
as a tool for small-time or even big-time businessmen to set-up their business on the web.&#13;
Most e-commerce websites if not all have banner advertisements to add to their&#13;
income. Existing e-commerce sites in the Philippines process their banner advertisements&#13;
offline - meaning - they hire extra people to do the jobs for the processing of banner&#13;
advertisements Banner advertisers usually fax or send the requirements before they can&#13;
advertise in a website This special project has a real-time banner advertisement&#13;
processor All the banner advertisers have to do is to give the necessary requirements&#13;
through the web. Thus, the need to hire extra people to do this particular job would no&#13;
longer be required.&#13;
This software also accepts free advertisements to attract more surfers. However,&#13;
free advertisements are in text mode only

<title>Online Rheumatoid Arthritis Monitoring System (ORAMS)</title>
<link>http://dspace.cas.upm.edu.ph:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/3665</link>
<description>Online Rheumatoid Arthritis Monitoring System (ORAMS)
Baquero, Ginel P.
Rheumatoid Arthritis is one of the diseases that tend to be systemic in nature&#13;
so a system that can track the condition of the patient based on his disease activity&#13;
level is necessary for an effective clinical monitoring of the rheumatoid arthritis&#13;
patient.&#13;
Online Rheumatoid Arthritis Monitoring System (ORAMS) is a web-based&#13;
application that aims to monitor the disease activity level of rheumatoid arthritis&#13;
patients and to centralize the information repository of the rheumatoid arthritis&#13;
patients for the Rheumatology Section. The system has five users namely: the&#13;
rheumatologist, rheumatology fellow, rheumatology department secretary,&#13;
laboratory assistant, and system administrator. ORAMS allows the calculation of&#13;
the disease activity level of the patient by means of the joint evaluation function&#13;
that is present in the system. The system would also help in the process of&#13;
evaluating the treatment of the patient. The application will also alert patients who&#13;
are scheduled for an appointment through SMS (short message service) in the&#13;
next few days. The system would also help in making the organization and&#13;
consolidation of summary reports faster and easier.&#13;
ORAMS does not only function as an electronic medical record but also a&#13;
decision support system by means of the different disease activity calculator.

<title>Otorhinolaryngology Information System (ORLIS)</title>
<link>http://dspace.cas.upm.edu.ph:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/3664</link>
<description>Otorhinolaryngology Information System (ORLIS)
Isla, Mark Lorico E.
The use of information system in medical institutions has been proven to improve&#13;
the quality and efficiency of health care. This explains why medical information system&#13;
has become an important support tool in the management of health care services&#13;
delivery. An adequate medical information system is vital not only for assessing the&#13;
health needs of populations and groups, but also for planning and implementation of&#13;
health interventions. The "Otorhinolaryngology Information System (ORLIS)" is a web&#13;
based application for healthcare providers of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology in&#13;
Philippine General Hospital to store, retrieve, collate and process data required for&#13;
reports generation in a faster, efficient and accurate way. The system is designed for the&#13;
Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Specialty Clinics (for out-patients) and Ward&#13;
admissions (for ER and in-patients) of the Department. The system also includes a&#13;
simple imaging program to visualize Otorhinolaryngology physical examination.

<title>Surveillance System of Hospital-Acquired Infection in the Philippines</title>
<link>http://dspace.cas.upm.edu.ph:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/3663</link>
<description>Surveillance System of Hospital-Acquired Infection in the Philippines
Ortile, Edwin Joseph D.
Nosocomial or hospital-acquired infections are defined as those that were neither&#13;
present nor incubating at the time the patient came for care. Nosocomial infections are a&#13;
significant problem throughout the world and they remain to be one of the major&#13;
problems of Philippine hospitals. The Surveillance of Hospital-Acquired Infection in the&#13;
Philippines (SHIP) was established in 1999 with an aim to create a national database of&#13;
nosocomial infections and improve surveillance methods of hospitals in the Philippines.&#13;
Registered hospitals were asked to perform prospective nosocomial infection surveillance&#13;
on all patients within their own confines using uniform definitions and codes and report&#13;
these data to scheduled SHIP meetings. For each nosocomial infection detected, a limited&#13;
amount of information on the patient, the infection, the associated risk factors, and the&#13;
outcomes of infection should be recorded on a data sheet form. Therefore, there is a need&#13;
for an online surveillance system that will systematically collect, analyze and record&#13;
patient infection data.&#13;
The Surveillance System of Hospital-Acquired Infection in the Philippines (SSHIP) is&#13;
a web-based computer program that will aid infection control doctors and nurses on the&#13;
data collection and retrieval of important nosocomial infection information. SSHIP&#13;
allows {I) infection control nurses to update the Infection Worksheet, Laboratory Data&#13;
Form and the ICU Monthly Report Form, (2) infection control doctors and nurses to&#13;
generate rates and graphs of the ICU Monthly Report Form, (3) online users to submit&#13;
online SHIP Application Forms, and (4) sending via email of notification of application&#13;
to Philippine hospitals who submitted their online SHIP Application Forms.
