Abstract:
Money has been the object of discussion, problems and studies all
around the world. For years, the Philippines has struggled with it and
has tried to keep the budget from being less than what the country
needs. Each department and government unit has had to make do with
what they were given for the entire year. Knowing that this wouldn’t
suffice, these departments and government units looked for ways in
which they could cut back on expenses. This study will focus on the Supreme Court’s effort to lessen their
expenses by turning to the private contractors for help. They have used
these private contractors in hiring the personnel they need. A thorough
study of the contracts of the following companies shall be conducted:
Sparrow Integrated Services for the janitorial staff, Amurao Airconditioning
and Industrial Sales for the air-condition technicians, and Corinth Food Services and Race Food Canteen for the canteen concessionaires. It will also encompass the conditions of the workers,
their wages and the benefits they are receiving. The research will show whether or not outsourcing has solved the
problems that the Supreme Court is faced with. Finally, the effects of
outsourcing on the contractual workers’ wages and benefits will be
discussed and analyzed.
