dc.description.abstract This study aims to know the conditions of the housing projects of the National Housing Authority. It seeks to know if the housing projects are adequate. Adequate shelter means adequate privacy, adequate space, adequate security, adequate lighting, and ventilation, adequate basic infrastructure and adequate location with regard to basic work and basic facilities - all at reasonable cost. Adequate standard of living is one of the many rights of every Filipinos. The number of Filipinos living in slums and settling informally is obviously growing in numbers. One of the government's responsibilities is to provide them with shelters that would give them confidence and security. The government should take into account that housing is not simply a matter of building concrete structures or infrastructure, but is intrinsically a social and human problem that relates to the empowerment of the people. Aside from this all, the government should be looking beneath the problem of housing. Many Filipinos are having housing problems because they are impoverished and before anything else, this is what the government should be working out. en_US
