dc.description.abstract | The aim of the research is to understand the lived experiences of OPM artists with full-time non-arts careers. In doing so, the study intends to describe the influence of psychological and basic needs on their pursuit of a musical and a full-time non-arts career, as well as their insights on multiple jobholding. A phenomenological approach was done through conducting in-depth interviews on three (3) musicians. The study found that the musicians’ need to fulfill their psychological needs is their drive towards pursuing their musical careers. The same relationship applies to their basic needs and their full-time non-arts careers. Moreover, the informants detail their experiences of burnout and balance as multiple jobholders. | en_US |
