Abstract: A Comparative Study of Student Political Parties in the University of the Philippines Diliman. The study was instituted to identify the similarities and differences of student political parties and its role and influence in the University campus politics. The contents have been arranged according to the sequence of research and studies made by the author. Chapter 1 discusses the process involved in order to achieve the objectives and to prove or disprove the theory. The objectives of the study are to identify and analyze: the roots or origin of each student political parties in the history of university campus politics; the member organizations of each student political parties to show its stability as an alliance; the principles and ideologies of each student political parties; the major projects and programs of each student political parties in the student campus; the achievements of each student political parties in the student council election; the general program of action of each student political parties in the student council and to determine its connection in party’s principles and ideologies; the stand of each student political parties on the local and national issues; the ideological and political differences of each student political parties; the personal differences of each student political parties. Data were gathered from interviews with key personnel of different parties, articles and other related studies to U.P. Diliman campus politics. Chapter 2 discusses the historical background of political forces in the Philippines that started with the founding of the Katipunan in 1892. This developed into the anti- neocolonial political forces that spring from the Marcos regime and prevailed to the present. These forces play significant role in the Philippine society because these groups serve as remainders of our fight against imperialist forces. Chapter 3 discusses the U.P. Diliman campus politics, specifically the student political parties (STAND-UP, ALYANSA, RAISA). This chapter is about the principles of the parties, member organizations, campaign movements and activity programs, and position on local and national issues. Chapter 4 & 5 discusses the ideological and political and personal differences of student political parties including its member organizations. These chapters are about the national political affiliation of each student political parties and its respective ideology that molded the image of each student political party in the campus. Lastly, Chapter 6&7 is about the analysis, conclusion and recommendation. In these chapters presents the attainment of the stated objectives of the study, the approval of the theory based from the data gathered along with its analysis.
