Title: A Study on The Perception of Young Filipino Adults on Muslim Groups

Abstract: This paper is entitled A Study on the Perception of Young Filipino Adults on Muslim groups. This study took into consideration the following variables that may affect one’s perception; these are educational attainment, employment status and frequency of use of media, which included radio, newspapers and magazines, internet and television. The researcher gathered data through a self-made questionnaire, which contained questions that determined the respondents’ educational background, employment status and frequency of use of media. This study had 100 respondents that were chosen at random and the duration was four months. Based on their answers and the results of the statistical tests that were used, the variables that affected the perception of young Filipino adults were employment status and frequency of use of media, specifically, the frequency of listening to the radio. While, educational background and the frequency of use of the other types of media; television, internet and newspapers and magazines, did not affect the respondents’ perception. The researcher recommended the government to work harder in educating the young minds so as to provide them with a better opportunity to acquire a job in the future thus eliminating the possibility of employment status affecting their perception. Another recommendation was to distribute the said findings to the radio stations to warn them that they have the power to affect the perception of their frequent listeners.
