dc.description.abstract | This study, "Women Lawyers on Sexism," tackles the situation of women, including women lawyers, with reference to the law and the legal system. The study gives a historical narrative of the way the law has treated the women from the pre-colonial era until today. It also recounts the struggle of the first women lawyers to penetrate the profession. Several interviews were conducted with women lawyers to get their opinions, on three matters: first, their personal experiences with gender-based discrimination in their profession, second, how women today are treated in the legal setting, and third, some areas in that setting that need reconsideration. | en_US |
