Title: | iCare A Patient Internet Portal for Clinical Communication and Health Education of Friendly Hills Medical Services, Inc. |
Authors: | Sulangsawa, Andy D. |
Keywords: | Patient Internet Portal Patient Centered Health Care Patient and Doctor Communication |
Issue Date: | Apr-2008 |
Abstract: | iCare, the Patient Internet Portal of Friendly Hills Medical Services Inc. enables patients to communicate with Friendly Hills about common clinical requests such as appointment scheduling, referral request and prescription renewal as well as clinical questions via secured and structured email. It also serves as a health education tool wherein patients can view and annotate their record, maintain health education links and participate in health related forums. To cater to the requests of family members who may be spatially far from a patient who suddenly fell ill, to be updated with the relative's health, a chat component is provided for them and Friendly Hills' doctors. The chat is only done upon the patient's consent. |
