Abstract: This study was geared towards the determination of whether the Local Government of Las Pifias is effective and efficient in rendering the basic social services that its constituents need. Utilizing the quantitative analysis, Interviews and Survey Method, the researcher gathered the necessary data with the use of a questionnaire involving 386 members of the urban poor sector of Las Pifias as respondents. Based on the gathered data, majority of the respondents were female and are aged between 31 — 35, most of whom attained only the elementary level, earning a monthly family income of P3000.00. The respondents view the Local Government of Las Pifias as only “fairly sufficient” in providing them with their much needed basic social services. The researcher found out that the Local Government Unit is indeed ineffective and insufficient in rendering the Basic Social Services to the urban poor of Las Pifias City. Thus, the author suggested that further studies be conducted to be able to uplift the living conditions of the urban poor of Las Pinas.
