Four insecticides namely Malathion, Chlordane, Drione and Plaster of Paris were tested for their efficacy against species of Periplaneta americana. Of the four insecticidal baits used, Drione was the best for controlling the roaches. It was the best insecticide against adults, nymphs, males and females. The least effective for adults and nymphs were Malathion and Plaster of Paris. The males were more resistant to the different insecticidal baits than the females. The adults as well proved to be more resistant in terms of percent survival as compared to the nymphs.en_US
