<title>An Evaluation of Foreign Assistance Through Transport Infrastructure Projects of Department of Public Works and Highways in National Capital Region</title>

<description>An Evaluation of Foreign Assistance Through Transport Infrastructure Projects of Department of Public Works and Highways in National Capital Region
Yrreverre, Michelle R.
The study aims to determine if foreign assistance spent on transport infrastructure in the&#13;
National Capital Region generate economic growth to the country. It was inferred that it could&#13;
solve economic problems and lead to growth but it can also create problem because of&#13;
complications brought by conditions and additional debt. The study looked at the project's&#13;
background, agreements, and the relationships between NCR's Gross Domestic Product and&#13;
Foreign Borrowing. It was proven correct that foreign assistance spent on transport&#13;
infrastructure generates growth, however, projects continue to increase and agreements appear&#13;
to control the country. These variables affect the country's well and full use of the funds. It is&#13;
thus, only an immediate economic growth but creates debt problem in the long-term.

<title>Re-Interpretation (Ijtihad) and Legal Reforms in Muslim Family Law: A Study on the Phenomenon of Feminism in Islam</title>
<link>http://dspace.cas.upm.edu.ph:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/3695</link>
<description>Re-Interpretation (Ijtihad) and Legal Reforms in Muslim Family Law: A Study on the Phenomenon of Feminism in Islam
Diamse, Sheilla Lynn A.
A Muslim Woman thinks her birth, position in society and status are all ordained by God.&#13;
The Quran, she believes, has specified her conduct from birth to death. But practice differs from the&#13;
precept. The experiences of the women in Afghanistan under the Taliban regime proves that Islam&#13;
has been utilized by groups to further aggravate the position of women and secure a male-dominated&#13;
society.&#13;
There is a pressing need to look at the stories and realities of the status of women and this&#13;
study is an attempt to focus on issues that cut across cultural and national boundaries - issues&#13;
challenging the traditional societies of the Muslim world. The increasing disparity between the roles&#13;
women take in the public and the private sphere and the impact of Western values and institutions&#13;
·Muslim communities led to the emergence of advocacies which reflect similarities with the feminist&#13;
movements of the West but which express an indigenous form. lt retains the supremacy of Islamic&#13;
sources as means of re-asserting the high status granted by Islam to women. As most of the Muslim&#13;
countries undergo democratization, the legal system also served as a direct mechanism of improving&#13;
the position of Muslim women through enactment of reforms. Where feminist and egalitarian&#13;
pressures organized into movements or parties have originated from women, the ensuing reforms&#13;
and policy changes appear to be more enduring. Government policies and liberalized, egalitarian laws&#13;
are necessary before Muslim women can begin to act effectively in the public arena and be granted&#13;
the freedom of choice in basic family issues. Significantly, this is a study of a society misunderstood and prejudged based on the Western&#13;
standards. What follows is directed at emphasizing the desire of such cultural and social&#13;
communities to adapt to changes in the modern world in the context of their own. What is required&#13;
is greater understanding, less prejudice and respect to the desires of these movements to empower&#13;
Muslim women based on the principles of Islam.

<title>U.S. Military Presence in the Asia Pacific and Its Effect on the Political Stability in the Region</title>
<link>http://dspace.cas.upm.edu.ph:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/3694</link>
<description>U.S. Military Presence in the Asia Pacific and Its Effect on the Political Stability in the Region
Tiong, Christopher Rey
The study is about the US military presence in the Asia Pacific and its effect of&#13;
the political stability in the region. This study seeks to unearth the interests of the US&#13;
forces that explains the presence of US troops in the region. The study also identifies the&#13;
military policies of the US Military particularly in the Asia Pacific region.&#13;
The study also identifies the factors that define political stability in the&#13;
perspective of the people. The study also enumerates the different roles that the US&#13;
military forces play in the Asia P&#1048773;cific region such as the direct and indirect meddling in&#13;
the internal affairs of the countries belonging to the region.&#13;
This study determines the effect of US military presence on political stability by&#13;
identifying the different roles that the US military forces in Asia Pacific play and the&#13;
interest of the United States of America in the Asia Pacific region which has warranted&#13;
the sending of its troops to the region and cross-referencing these with the factors that&#13;
determine the political stability from the perspective of the people. The factors that&#13;
determine political stability will serve somewhat as a checklist to determine whether or&#13;
not the US military presence in Asia Pacific contributes to political stability or instability.
