dc.description.abstract The Role of Churches in the Collective Bargaining of the Labor Rights This study intends to know the role of the churches in the collective bargaining of the labor rights. It focused on three churches in the Philippines namely the Roman Catholic, Iglesia Filipina Independiente and United Church of Christ in the Philippines and it covers their values, reasons and teachings towards their involvement in advocating for labor rights. Results show that the three churches do not fully participate in the collective bargaining however they help the workers in other means like mediation and conciliation. Through those methods, workers have improved health condition, increased wages, and were educated in their rights under the law. Contrary to the claim that religion diverts consciousness which makes it opium of the masses, this study concluded that churches play a role and promote in social change en_US
