Abstract:
Transportation is a social determinant of health. In Metro Manila, the heavy and debilitating traffic raises health concerns for the commuting public. Stress, traffic crashes, pollution, and lifestyle changes are the leading risks that influence commuter health. Accessibility has also been found to have indirect impacts. All these risks are predictable and preventable. The study scrutinizes the people, policy and technology that mold the current transport system in NCR so that one day, no more lives will be pre-emptively taken on the road.
