dc.description.abstract There's a Time for Everything: A Study on the Effects of Flexitime on Job Performance among Employees of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Institute. Undergraduate Thesis for the Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication, Department of Arts and Communication, University of the Philippines Manila. 2nd Semester, SY2012-2013. There has been a prevalence of studies made on Flexible working policies, such as Flexitime, which was designed to provide employees the freedom of choice over their arrival and departure times, helping them achieve a more satisfactory work-life balance. However, only a few have focused on the implementation of Flexitime to improve an employee's job performance and most researchers only explored the advantages and disadvantages associated with Flexitime. In the Philippines setting, there is an evident lack of research on the Flexitime system of organizations especially those from the public sector. Given the aforementioned gap, this descriptive study aimed to address the problem, "How does the Flexitime work arrangement in Bangko Sentral specifically in Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Institute affect its employees' job performance?" The question was addressed mainly through a survey questionnaire administered to all regular employees of BSP Institute to determine how Flexitime was implemented in the organization, to identify the perceptions of BSPI employees on control over time, as well as to know how they evaluate their job performance in terms of declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge, and motivation. Frequency distribution, weighted mean, regression and correlation analysis were used to obtain the respondents' profiles and determine the effects of Flexitime as a time management tool to the employees' selfassessed job performance. The findings of the study:1) Flexitime is implemented in BSPI, 2) the respondents have perceived control over time through Flexitime, 3) job performance in terms of declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge, and motivation is exhibited by BSPI employees, and 4) perceived control over time has a significant effect on job performance, confirmed the hypothesis of the researcher and revealed a relationship between Flexitime and Job Performance. Thus, it is proven in this study that Flexitime, as a time management tool, has a significant effect on employees' job performance. en_US
