dc.description.abstract This study focused on the chronology of events that led to the development of the B.A. Organizational Communication undergraduate degree program at the University of the Philippines Manila, with focus on its curriculum. This includes the timelines and personalities from the inception of B.A. OrCom at UP Manila on 1984 towards the degree program's developments as of the year 2010. Due to the qualitative and historical nature of the study, the historical research method and archival research method were used. To garner first hand information, unsturctured interviews were conducted with two members of the OrCom formation committee, two OrCom coordinators, two OrCom faculty members, and one of the first OrCom alumni. Then, existing documents from DAC-UP Manila were collected to ensure that the knowledge and experiences of the key informants would be supported by written documents that can establish a more accurate timeline and validate details that will be used in the synthesis of data. The major limitation here is the study depended on what the key informants can remember and the existing documents that were collected. Hence, this study will merely describe the changes that happened in the B.A.OrCom undergraduate degree program and will serve as a foundation of knowledge for people who are interested to improve the degree program or further study it. en_US
