It is most likely that everyone has several social circles that one belongs to. People have cliques from high school, from college, from their neighborhood, or even from their churches. Definitely, these groups have different personalities and an individual needs to make certain intra- and interpersonal adjustments so that he/she can maintain relational harmony with all of them. There might be times that the interests of two or more groups that an individual belongs to are contradictory and he/she needs to find a way how to settle these issues.
This study would like to find out what are the most common challenges individuals, who are already in the workplace, experience when interacting with different social groups. In turn, this study would also like to find out what solutions, if any, are done by these individuals to resolve such problems. An interview will be conducted with 10 respondents and their experiences are to be studied. The researcher uses the Social Exchange Theory to analyze the problem. |
