Abstract:
The prison institution is a microcosm of the society. Inside prison, there are different
groups that represent the larger part of the society. The military is one important part of the
society for they are the ones who uphold peace and order and try to eradicate the possibility of
any threats to life of an individual or the society itself. These military men are exposed to such
dangers of the society. What happened when they make mistakes and are convicted and become
the prisoners? As stated by the Constitution of the Philippines, everyone is equal in the eyes of
the law. So these military men who are convicted and imprisoned should also be protected and
treated like the other prisoners who enjoy certain prison rights. This is what the law provides but
is not always observed.
