With the emergence of call centers in the Philippines, it is then necessary to
determine the possible implications of this phenomenon to Philippine society. In this
regard, the study focuses on the possible health implications of both night shift work and
call center work to women workers. Likewise, the study analyzes the effectiveness of
certain policies and regulations pursuing the welfare of women workers especially those
on the night shift. The study has been conducted among the women workers of Teleperformance
Philippines, Edsa Central branch. A survey questionnaire probing the existence of certain
health conditions is used to substantiate the possible link between night shift work and
the health of women call center workers. Similarly, interviews have been conducted with
notable persons related to the fields of study. As this is an impact study, it adopts a
qualitative approach in analyzing the data. Thereafter, recommendations are made
concerning the policies involved and similar studies on the subject. |
