dc.description.abstract This study aims to describe the occupational well-being of government hospital nurses in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija. For the qualitative part, survey methods with the administration of Likert scales were used and descriptive statistics and correlation were used as method of analysis to (1) explain the prevalence of stressors collectively, (2) explain relationship of stressors and job satisfaction of nurses in the workplace, and (3) to explain the coping strategies of nurses in the workplace. For the qualitative part, in-depth interviews and analysis of documents were employed to (4) determine the relationship of stressors on job satisfaction of nurses in the workplace and (5) to identify existing policies on the working conditions of nurses vis-à-vis the effects of stressors on job satisfaction. The findings showed the various factors behind the prevalence of stressors and there is little-to-no correlation between the level of stress they experience and the level of satisfaction towards their job. Nurses also employ problem- and emotion-focused coping strategies. These findings were further supported by the findings in the qualitative part. Analysis of documents was not done due to lack of hospital policies that concern the occupational well-being of nurses. This study further implies that the management of aforementioned government hospitals should make nurses one of their priorities through establishing such policies that are integral to the well-being of nurses, such as reduction of stress in order to have a healthy workplace that can be tantamount to having quality healthcare service. en_US
