dc.description.abstract This is a descriptive study of the state of non-conventional therapies in an urban setting. The study measured the respondents’ knowledge and application of non-conventional therapies as well as determined the factors that affected their usage. The therapies were limited to aromatherapy, art therapy, exercise, healing, herbalism, hydrotherapy, hypnotherapy, iridology, massage, music therapy, nutrition, reflexology, visualization and yoga. Sample population comprised of 160 residents of Barangay San Isidro, Makati City. The questionnaires used contained items on the respondents’ demographic data, their level of knowledge and use of non-conventional therapies, and their practice of these therapies. Results showed that the residents of San Isidro had little knowledge and seldom use of these therapies. It revealed that among the factors identified, the educational attainment of the respondent had the greatest influence in their utilization of the therapies. en_US
