Abstract:
This research focused on the Self-Esteem of Guest Relations
Officers working in a First-Class Karaoke Club in Makati City as
affected by the Stigma imposed upon them by the society. Karaoke clubs
emerged as newer forms of entertainment. Its proliferation easily
persuades the attention of young women to enter the job as a GRO since
it is a very lucrative one despite the negative connotations attached to the
job and to the women indulging in such a business. Given this fact, they
view it as a modified form of prostitution that continuously subject the
women into subservience, especially by the women’s right advocates.
