dc.description.abstract Because of tight economic situations, Filipino Women, particularly the Mathers have to work. Before, their roles were confined to the home, taking good care of their children, waiting on to meet the husband, and attending to various household chores. But because of present realities, they had to abandon their traditional roles. On one hand this is mast reality welcome, considering that they can augment the salaries of their husbands and can the same time attain fulfillment in their chosen careers. On the other hand, it puts greater pressure on them since they play a dual role-- that of a homemaker ( a mother and wife) and that of a career woman ( or as part of the labor force.) Because they do not have time to carry out the responsibilities to both their families and career, they now face tremendous difficulties -- or the so called "double burden experiences.” Thus, this study deals with a comparative analysis of the double burden dilemmas faced by working mothers in the blue and white collar sector of the metropolis. en_US
