Abstract:
The self-concept of the domestic helpers and its relationship with roles/functions, length of service, treatment by the employer, and work performance were examined using the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient. 37 respondents from an organization of domestic helpers revealed specific behaviors and attitudes through the use of structural questionnaire consisting of dimensions that measured the five variables stated. Results suggest that a very low correlation exists between self-concept and length of service while there is a moderate correlation between self-concept and roles/functions. Employer’s treatment of the domestic helper and work performance are both found to have a high correlation with self-concept.
