AuctionsOnline: An Online Auction Site with SMS Reminder System

Abstract

The system AuctionsOnline provides a venue for people to transact business over the internet. It allows users to sell their products by putting them up for auction so that other users can bid for them. In addition, the system has an SMS feature which automatically sends text messages to alert users at appropriate instances. Registered users can either sell products or bid for them. As a seller, the user is allowed to put a product up for auction and keep track of products he/she is currently selling, products he/she has sold, and products he/she has not sold. As a bidder, the user may search for products, bid, and keep track of products he/she is currently bidding on and products he/she has won. A user may also give feedback to another user, provided that a transaction between them occurred. The site also maintains a wishlist, which is a list of products bidders would like to see in the site. The system administrator may view past transactions and search through them. The system administrator also has the ability to modify categories and subcategories.
