Abstract:
The study is about the US military presence in the Asia Pacific and its effect of
the political stability in the region. This study seeks to unearth the interests of the US
forces that explains the presence of US troops in the region. The study also identifies the
military policies of the US Military particularly in the Asia Pacific region.
The study also identifies the factors that define political stability in the
perspective of the people. The study also enumerates the different roles that the US
military forces play in the Asia Pcific region such as the direct and indirect meddling in
the internal affairs of the countries belonging to the region.
This study determines the effect of US military presence on political stability by
identifying the different roles that the US military forces in Asia Pacific play and the
interest of the United States of America in the Asia Pacific region which has warranted
the sending of its troops to the region and cross-referencing these with the factors that
determine the political stability from the perspective of the people. The factors that
determine political stability will serve somewhat as a checklist to determine whether or
not the US military presence in Asia Pacific contributes to political stability or instability.
