Power, energy, and electricity is very important for any nation to be able to strive for development. There are various ways in order to gather and collect energy. Philippines being a country of a tropical nature, it is surrounded by an environment which caters to the renewable energy which can be harnessed and developed. Despite this, the government advocates for the use of coal- energy and even venturing unto nuclear means.
This study aims to assess why the Philippine government chose to discontinue supporting the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant over the past decades and why reviving the plant will not be of any benefit to the Filipino Community. Interviews from the department concerned and from the people’s organization stationed in Bataan were used to assess and determine the possible future the plant may take, it is backed up by the survey conducted among the people of Morong, the town most affected by the BNPP. A total of 50 respondents, all citizens of Morong were asked a few questions to be able to support the research’s claim.
