Crimes involving children continue to exist in the Philippine society. Prior to the creation of a Juvenile Justice System, youth offenders are being imprisoned together with adults. The solution of the government to the dehumanizing condition of joining adult and child offenders in a single facility and the increasing rates of cases concerning children in conflict with the law is rehabilitation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the rehabilitation program currently being used by Molave Youth Home, a rehabilitation center, with regard to its goal of reintegrating children in conflict with the law in their respective communities as productive and law abiding citizens. The data from interviews, observation, and program evaluation revealed that a comprehensive rehabilitation program, proper program implementation, and the involvement of the community are all vital to reintegrating children in conflict with the law in their communities with improved lives and with less or no chance of re-offending. |
