dc.description.abstract Curfews have been implemented in the attempt in reducing crime and ensure public safety in the area in where it is imposed. This study will see the effectiveness and perception of the public in the curfew implementation in Barangay San Roque, Antipolo City. Curfews have been subject to controversy as some say that it violates the constitution because it restricts individuals of their freedom. This research will be a policy review to see whether or not this measure is an effective tool to reduce crime and victimization in the area. It will also see how the local government units handle the policy and how they communicate through various instruments in the local government and police to implement the ordinance. Through in depth interviews, the researcher will find out the perception and opinions of individuals situated in Barangay San Roque. It was clear that the curfew ordinance was not implemented quite well in Antipolo City. Throughout the research, many individuals claim that the curfew in Antipolo City was only good for the first couple of months during the new administration. Respondents, who live in Antipolo City, agree that the curfew ordinance in Antipolo City is not a long-term solution to prevent crime incidence in Antipolo City. A number of respondents also believe that in implementing the curfew ordinance, it restricts their freedom and their rights. The government officials who were interviewed by the researcher reflected the opinions of the respondents. They agree that the implementation of curfew needs more effort throughout. More coordination between the local police and the local government is essential in order to have a better implementation of the curfew ordinance en_US
