dc.description.abstract A thesis is a document submitted in support of candidature for an academic degree or professional qualification presenting the author's research and findings. The structure of a thesis explains the purpose, the methods used and the findings of the project by including a series of chapters. They vary in their structure in line with the many different areas of study, and the great differences between them. LaTeX is a document markup language and document preparation system capable of producing high-quality documents using a reasonable amount of effort. It is based on the idea that authors should be able to focus on the meaning of what they are writing without being distracted by the visual presentation of the information. It therefore encourages the separation of layout from content. The UPM GUI LaTeX Editor is a stand-alone application intended to streamline the thesis document preparation process and provide standard style and structure thereto, through the use of LaTeX. It is designed to allow users who aren’t knowledgeable on LaTeX programming to still be able to take advantage of its features and produce quality thesis documents. en_US
