dc.description.abstract For the past years, the development of internet and communication technologies have greatly influenced human lifestyles and opened paths for innovation in both business and medical processes. Linking patients, physicians and hospitals in the health sector has been a current trend to provide optimized care which led to innovations such as the mobile healthcare where information is easily accessed due to availability of existing handhelds, phones and embedded systems. Being pregnant is very challenging for mothers especially if they are expecting a child for the first time. Monitoring the whole process is a must to have a successful delivery at the end. Consultations with their respective physicians should be done continuously in scheduled basis for better monitoring of the whole process. Mobile-based Pregnancy Support and Healthcare Information System (MPreSH) is intended to provide an application to supply proper support and healthcare for women undergoing pregnancy. With the use of this system, pregnant women, by means of self- management, can receive proper monitoring and support while the baby is in the womb. Consultations are a big factor during pregnancy and MPreSH provided a solution by sending text messages to patients a day before their respective consultation that will serve as a reminder. Important modules from the web based system are also applied into a mobile application so that patients can still have access to the healthcare module even without the access of internet at all times. en_US
