dc.description.abstract Access to health care remains very limited. People are forced in improving their health-seeking behavior by the location of health facilities, low levels of education, limited income, and high prices of medicines and hospital care. Overall, public spending in health remains below international standards. In the absence of universal health insurance coverage, health expenditures continue to be financed largely from the pockets of patients and their families. Spending is still heavily in favor of hospital or curative care to the neglect of preventive and promotive health services. In data gathering, primary data was conducted at the government hospital of Makati and Taguig. In order to analyze the current state of health care service condition of government hospitals through case studies, the researcher administered survey questionnaires to two different set of respondents from the two hospitals. There are two sets of respondents for each government hospital (outpatients and the in-patients). Both are composed of randomly selected respondents through stratified sampling. Taking the cases of the government hospital of Makati and Taguig, this study aims to evaluate how government hospital provide an excellent and quality health care service to the people, make an analysis on the sufficiency of the government's budget allocation to these public hospitals, and highlight the impacts of current state of government hospital health care service on the patients. en_US
