Abstract:
This thesis paper tackles the history of migration of the Warays residing in San Roque, Quezon City, an urban poor community. It makes use of the push-and-pull theory of migration and Foucault's counter-history and Foucault's epistemology of resistance as theoretical framework, and oral history as methodology. It discusses the experience of the urban poor migrants in the context of employment, contractualization, life in San Roque and their aspiration to return to their area of origin in Eastern Visayas.
