Title: A Study of Religiosity in the Workplace and its Effect on the Job Satisfaction of Christian Employees

Abstract: Job satisfaction has been considered one of the most important facets of employee management. According to Herzberg, there are intrinsic and extrinsic factors that affect job satisfaction and dissatisfaction. These factors were identified as: (1) promotion opportunities; (2) opportunities for personal growth; (3) recognition; (4) sense of fulfillment; (5) work difficulties and challenges; (6) supervision; (7) pay, salary, and benefits; (8) company policies; (9) physical working conditions; (10) interpersonal relationships; (11) responsibility and achievement, and (12) job security. Furthermore, this study considers religiosity and religious expression as factors that are associated with the job satisfaction of Christian employees. The study aims to identify the correlation between the religiosity, religious expression and job satisfaction of Christian employees. Furthermore, the study looks into how the factors of job satisfaction influence Christian employees’ job satisfaction. Based on the study’s objectives, the researcher mailed 500 purposively selected Christian employees in Metro Manila. 351 was able to answer the survey. Based on the number of respondents, there is a 70% response rate. The data was processed through factor analysis and correlation analysis. Through the Equimax Rotation Method, the researcher confirmed and established twelve factors of job satisfaction. It was found that among the factors of job satisfaction, Physical Working Condition has the highest factor loading while Work Difficulties and Challenges has the lowest factor loading. Through correlation analysis, it was found that religiosity, religious expression, and job satisfaction have positive yet weak correlation with each other.
